There is a shop in an unexpected location (an area I often pass by as I love running). A calm area with very few cars and motorcycles The food is delicious, probably cooked by a Vietnamese chef. There's a good explanation of sukiyaki seasoning on YouTube, so I thought I'd do a little more research and fix it. The nigiri sushi had just the right grip and was easy to eat. I think the price is a little high, but I think it's well worth it.

Recently relocated from Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh City. I was apprehensive about finding sushi that could match the quality I was accustomed to in Tokyo and the USA. To my surprise, I found a restaurant that serves sushi that is of equal caliber to sushi in Tokyo and the best American sushi omakases. If you served Higuchi to me in a blind taste test versus top omakase’s I’d see no difference.
They may be new but their chefs are focused on quality and it’s an excellent place for a solo dinner or date. The culinary and service experience here is nothing short of exceptional, and the value is equally impressive given the high caliber of the ingredients they fly in from Japan and their focus on their craftsmanship. I wholeheartedly recommend Higuchi to anyone in search of authentic, top grade sushi in Vietnam. It’s the best sushi in Ho Chi Min City hands-down.
